My name is Kai Gelcer. Born and raised in Toronto, I attended high school at Upper Canada College before moving to Vancouver to pursue an engineering degree at the University of British Columbia. In May 2021, I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Engineering. Since January 2022, I have been working for Scotiabank as a software engineer, building and maintaining internal applications for global equities trading and analytics.

Working in Global Banking and Markets, I am developing Angular web applications for global equities trading and risk analysis. These include a Central Risk Book, a Forex Trading Terminal, and more. After the departure of my team's senior frontend developer, I assumed sole responsibility for the frontend codebase and all subsequent GUI work. My frontend work involves data grids which require complex aggregation and filtering, as well as graphical representations such as gauges and bar charts. On the backend, I work with Java, Spring, and SQL to build REST APIs and WebSocket endpoints exposing market data to the frontend
